Cindy and I had a chance to thank Marianne Mallon, editor of Today’s Dietitian, in person for passing our request for donations of issues directly to our contacts in Louisiana and Mississippi.
We were happy to tell Marianne that Diane and Kathy received the issues. The Great Valley Publishing Company is located in Spring City, in northern Chester County, about 40 miles from Center City Philadelphia, where Lippincott Williams & Wilkins is located.
Note: Have you seen our PR CO-Chair Libby Mills' article about PA hurricane relief efforts right now on the state website and in the November issue of Today's Dietitian?

At the Lippincott Williams & Wilkins booth, I was glad to meet Sandra Kasko, Senior Publisher, at 5th and Walnut Streets in Philadelphia and Tim Lucchesi, Professional & Educational Division in St. Louis. This publishing company will look into donating extra issues of Nutrition Today.

I was sorry to miss Zaneta Pronsky, but I took the chance to meet Mr. Pronsky, president of their company, and two workers at the Food/Medication Interactions booth. The Pronskys donated twelve copies of Food/Medication Interactions, a bible in clinical nutrition, to Marilyn Howell’s Zaneta donated twelve copies of this book to Marilyn Howell’s “starting over care packages” project for dietitians in Mississippi affected by Hurricane Katrina.. It was rewarding to be able to tell Mr. Pronsky about the status of the relief effort.

Pennsylvania author and Penn State professor made free copies available to intrepid readers that followed a map of a defined route to five exhibit booths. At each station, their map was stamped and, if returned, the book was theirs. Later, readers brought the book to Dr. Rolls to have the book signed.
