PADAF (Foundation) Overview

The Pennsylvania Dietetic Association Foundation (PADAF) is the philanthropic arm of the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association. It is a 501C (3) non-profit organization devoted exclusively to nutrition and dietetics.

The Foundation funds scholarships and awards education and research projects that promote optimal nutrition, health, and well being of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Mission
The mission of the Foundation is to promote health through nutrition education and research for the public and the dietetic practitioner. This is accomplished by

  • Promoting health of the public through education
  • Enhancing the quality of dietetic practice and education
  • Supporting research in nutrition and dietetics
  • Identifying and maintaining the resources necessary to accomplish this mission

How is PADAF funded?
A variety of public and private contributions including many companies that conduct business in Pennsylvania. Also from various scholarship yearly fund-raisers.

How to Donate to PADAF?
Every dollar counts. Consider making a contribution to PADAF and help achieve the fundraising goal towards the scholarship endowments.

Tax deductible contributions at the following levels will be recognized via: meeting announcements, newsletters, and website.

Public Education Activities and National Nutrition Month (NNM)
It is the policy of the Foundation that public education activities shall be implemented yearly in conjunction with National Nutrition Month (NNM), in cooperation with the Association, ADA and other organizations.

The Foundation’s goal is to generate the necessary support, financial and otherwise. It will support creative efforts such as billboards, local events, adopt-a-library etc. which meet the Foundation mission standards for accuracy, contacts attained, and positive public relations efforts all NNM activities in the state and coordinate.
