To all PADA members!
Updated materials for both Make Time for Health© and Strong Bones© are available for member's use. The power point slides are developed to appeal to a variety of educational levels from the adult who has a 6th grade reading level to a more advanced educational level. The slides have minimal and simple words to allow for a second language translation if needed. Young adults (middle school and higher) would also be an appropriate audience with minimal adjustment of materials. For a more educated audience, the note pages were designed to include not only background information and resources but to allow the speaker to go into as much depth as desired per slide topic. Both power points were designed for a presentation length of 30 to 60 minutes. Several slides are “optional” and these can be removed if you need the shorter version.
The Make Time for Health power point could also be used in “stages”. For instance, if you are doing a short lesson plan on “healthy breakfast ideas”, those slides could be used for your program.
The Learning Objectives have been simplified to reflect easier comprehension and a shorter version.
Please read the “History” of both programs to receive a more detailed accounting of how the program is now formatted. In addition, the reader is presented with a “how to” in the section called “Steps to Create Make Time for Health or Strong Bones.” There are tips in the last section “Can I get paid?” as well as handouts and support materials. We have updated the bibliography for both programs and there are over 100 references.
