Too often, I work with clients who have a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis or who have experienced stress fractures or stress reactions. Being in preventative and proactive mode with behavior that is constructive, not destructive to bones is a must.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So to take care of our bones we need to minimize the bone robbers such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being sedentary<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drinking alcohol to excess<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smoking<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crash diets<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carrying excess body fat<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not consuming enough protein<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being under fueled<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And potentially the keto diet which may have adverse effects on bone health<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So what can we do to preserve bone health and be more in build than breakdown mode?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are the nutrients that are involved in optimizing bone health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>KEY NUTRIENTS FOR BONE HEALTH<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bones are composed of several nutrients. To keep your bones healthy, you need much more than calcium. What you eat can help to build and maintain bones, so be sure to include some of the following foods every day.
