Nancy Wooldridge is a co-director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Center (PPC) at the University of Alabama Birmingham and is the nutrition faculty member in the Schools of Public Health, Medicine, and Health Related Professions (Nutrition Sciences).  Ms. Wooldridge has been very active in the American Dietetic Association (ADA) at the local, state, and national levels throughout her career. She is respected nationally for the impact she has had on the fields of pediatric clinical nutrition and pulmonary care.

Tanya Agurs-Collins, PhD, RD

“Dietary Fat, Energy Balance and Breast Cancer Risk: Linking Research to Practice”

Dr. Agurs-Collins has been a program director/nutritionist at the Health Promotion Research Branch of the Behavioral Research Program at the National Cancer Institute’s Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences. Before joining NCI, Dr. Agurs-Collins was an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Howard University College of Medicine and nutritional epidemiologist at the Howard University Cancer Center in Washington, DC (1995-2004). During that time, Dr. Agurs-Collins conducted research in the areas of sex steroid hormones, growth hormones, nutrition, physical activity, and the effects of excess weight/obesity on breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer risk.

Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper is serving her first term in the House of Representatives on behalf of the 3rd Congressional District of Pennsylvania.  Dahlkemper comes to Washington, D.C., not as a career politician, but as a concerned citizen with a lifetime of experience under her belt. This experience includes several years working as a registered dietitian, serving as director for the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (LEAF), growing and managing a family-owned business, and a solid record of community service. In her first term in office, Dahlkemper has been selected to serve on the Committee on Agriculture, the Committee on Science and Technology, and the Committee on Small Business. She is also serving as Chairwoman on the Subcommittee on Regulations and Health Care, which is a subcommittee of the Small Business Committee.

Shirley Sword is Chief of Planning and Review, Division of WIC, PA Department of Health where she manages the administration of all aspects of Nutrition Services for the Pennsylvania WIC Program. The WIC Program operates through 24 local agencies in 67 counties with an average caseload of 263,000. She has worked as Pennsylvania’s State Nutrition Education Coordinator, Nutrition Educator Coordinator, WIC Program, a lactation specialist, and a clinical dietitian.

Amy Holtan is the Public Health Nutrition Consultant in the PA Department of Health. Robert Wolfe, PhD

Dr. Kristine Clark is the Director of Sports Nutrition for Penn State University's Athletic Dept. where she counsels over 800 varsity athletes from 29 teams.  She also holds a faculty position as an assistant professor in the Dept. of Nutritional Sciences.  Her research interests include food choices for exercise and athletic performance, timing of eating, and weight management.  Dr. Clark, a registered dietitian, is a past chair of the ADA-DPG SCAN, a member of the Weight Management DPG, a Fellow and past Trustee Member of the American College of Sports Medicine, and a member of the U.S. Olympic Sports Medicine Advisory Board.

Judy Dodd, MS, RD, LDN

“Linking Food and Nutrition: The Basics of Combining Education with Food Demonstration”

A leader, an author, a speaker and a consultant, Judy Dodd is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition, University of Pittsburgh and  is corporate nutritionist for the Giant Eagle Supermarkets.  Currently she is the Chairman of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) Foundation and on the ADA Board of Directors.  Judy Dodd has served as President of the American Dietetic Association, the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association, and the Board of Directors of the Allegheny County American Heart Association. She is a charter Fellow of the American Dietetic Association.  In 2004 she was awarded a Medallion Award by this Association and in 2008 received its top award, the Marjorie Hulsizer Copher Award.

Dr. Frank is a professor of nutrition and director of the California State University Long Beach ADA-Accredited Dietetic Internship.  She is a writer/speaker having served 19 years as an ADA media spokesperson. She has published or co-authored 116 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and is the single author of the 2nd edition of a community nutrition college textbook.

Mary Anne Burkman, Director of Program Services for the Dairy Council of California,  presently directs all outreach efforts to health professionals as well as adult consumers.  She has overseen the development of nutrition education programs and curriculum for adults and children and two Dairy Council hosted websites. Ms. Burkman has been active in ADA at the district, state and national level.  As a former delegate and area coordinator for ADA’s House of Delegates, she has served as chair of the Association’s Position Committee and is the upcoming Chair-elect for the ADA Practice Group, Nutrition Education for the Public.

Barbara Klein, Ph.D.

Dr. Johnson is associate professor of Food and Nutrition at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is the chair of the Quality Management and Scope of Dietetic Practice Framework Committee of the American Dietetic Association.  She is author of a commentary on folic acid metabolism and genetics for a major nutrition text.  She is a frequent speaker and recipient of numerous professional awards.
