Seven registered dietitians who have been members of the American Dietetic Association for 50 years were honored at the awards dinner.

Members of the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association met with Senator Michael OPake, D-Berks.

Senator Michael OPake has sponsored Senate Bill 420, an amendment of The Insurance Company Law of 1921 to include coverage for medical nutrition therapy to aid in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Members of the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association met RDs with Representative Jess M. Stairs, R-Fayette, Westmoreland.

Rep. Stairs indicated that his committee, the House Education Committee, had compressed the seven bills on childhood nutrition into three. Some parts of the bills are amendments to existing legislation. The bill numbers are HB185 and HB191.
