Find a Nutrition Profession to provide a Make time for Health Workshop

Dietetic's Professionals:

The home is the best place to make lifestyle changes. A grant obtained by the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association Foundation has allowed us to develop a workshop to assist parents with the eating and activity habits of their children.

In the parent workshop, Make Time For Health, dietitians present many strategies and creative ideas on how to keep children as healthy as possible.  All teachers and parents of elementary age children are invited to come.  We are targeting this workshop to participants from lower income levels and in fact, expect at least 50% of our participants to be at this level. (This will be validated in the evaluation by identifying which families are eligible for a reduced or free lunch.)

Make Time for Health will provide parents an opportunity to review the latest nutrition information; learn ideas for easy to prepare economical and healthful meals; and activity ideas that he whole family can enjoy. The participants will leave with education resources including helpful web sites and a week of menus and recipe ideas for easy and nutritious supper meals.
