Important Reminders to all Licensure Applicants

  • Remember the licensure law (Act 99) is a title act, meaning no one else can call themselves a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist or LDN. The law is not a practice act.
  • To request acknowledgment of the receipt of an application, send your application "certified mail - return receipt requested", no other acknowledgment or communication will be made by the licensure board.
  • Applications are processed in the order the are received. Therefore, some applications will move quickly, while others may delay or slow the process down. You can expect to wait a minimum of at least 8 weeks before you will hear if you are granted a license.
  • If you are an RD Please write your RD# or registration number somewhere on the application in the space for question #11. This will enable the licensure board to match your application with your CDR verification and speed up your application.
  • You must call CDR to get a verification statement sent directly to PA State Board of Nursing
  • If your name on your CDR verification is different than the name you put on your application (maybe you got married and did not change this with CDR) then this will probably slow down your application. Make sure your name is the same on both pieces (application & CDR verification) of information.
  • CDR only sends your verification to the licensure board you have to submit the application
