This grant is to foster the image of the Dietetics practitioner to the public. The intent is to encourage participation in activities in schools or with the public to highlight dietetics and provide quality nutrition information. The goal is to promote better understanding of the profession of dietetics by all.
The PADA programs “Make Time For Health” and “Healthy Bones” automatically qualify for the Community Grant. For more information on these programs click on the titles above.
The program provider will complete an application describing the audience, program, outcomes, and purpose of money. A follow up summary is requested as soon as possible following the program. Information from the application and follow-up summary may be used to promote PADA in the media.
*Limited to up to two grant awards per PADA member per membership year.
General Qualifications
- Willingness to work with groups.
- Promote the field of dietetics as a career.
- Position the dietetic professional as the best source of nutrition information.
- Willingness to serve as an advisor to nutrition projects having an impact on la larger community. For example, working as a mentor to high school students on a community service project.
Time to apply:
Anytime during the year beginning in May.
Submission deadline:
Applications may be submitted for consideration before or within 60 days after the program is conducted.
Notification Date:
Please allow 45 days for the grant process. Applications will be reviewed in order of receipt. Applicants will be notified upon approval. Once approved, the grant award will be mailed to the recipient within four to six weeks.
The Public Relations Chair is responsible for evaluating and awarding the grant.
