The PADA Nominating Committee is going green... 

Nominations for awards will be limited to no more than 10 pages (not including CV or resume).  Three ring binders will no longer be accepted.  This will save on postage and paper waste.  There is no need to send in supporting material for awards such as pictures or certificates;  simply list your accomplishments.  Publications can be listed with a sentence about where the committee can find them.  You may keep them online or, if necessary, send a copy to the committee electronically.

Note:

Two very important details when completing award applications:

  • HAVE APPROPRIATE SIGNATURES (nominee and/or district president)
  • INCLUDE 6 COPIES WITH ORIGINAL APPLICATION

PADA Awards

Each year it is the privilege of the PA State nominating committee to review

applications from Dietitians throughout the state who qualify for the various

Awards and scholarships. 

Following is a summary of the awards and scholarships which are available.

The Outstanding Dietitian (Word File) -

the highest honor bestowed upon a member of the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association, recognizes a Pennsylvania dietitian whose leadership and service is exemplary and whose contributions to PADA and the public have been longstanding and exceptional.

The Keystone Award (Word File)

recognizes Pennsylvania dietitians who have through their leadership ability demonstrated outstanding professional standards to serve and advance the aims of the PADA.

The Recognized Young Dietitian Award

is presented to members of the Association who are 35 years of age or younger who have demonstrated leadership qualities and performance in public relations, research, community outreach, management, legislation, education, and other areas related to the profession, on the job and in the community.

The Recognized Dietetic Technician of the Year Award

honors the contributions of diet technicians to the profession. Award recipients have demonstrated leadership qualities and performance in the Association or their employment through clinical nutrition, food service management, education, career guidance, legislation and public relations.

The Emerging Dietetic Leader Award

recognizes the activities and competence of dietitians regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions early in their career to the ADA.

ADA Scholarships - General Information

ADA Scholarships

Scholarships are available from The American Dietetic Association Foundation. All require ADA membership.

PADA contributes funds to ADAF for two endowed scholarships, which require PA state residency:

  • Billye June Eichelberger Scholarship
  • Sara Parks Scholarship

PADA Foundation Scholarships:

General Scholarship (Word file)

Provides a scholarship to a member of PADA who wishes to become eligible for registration through an internship, a coordinated program, or an AP4 program.

Diversity Scholarship (Word file)

Provides a scholarship to a minority student in an underrepresented racial group, who is pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree in food and nutrition science to become a dietetic technician registered or registered dietitian.

Annual Meeting Stipend criteria & application (Word File)

Are you a student who is registered for the 2012 AME?  If so, Consider applying for the student stipend.  It can help offset the cost of the AME and connect you to a member of PADA.

Provides a stipend to student members of the PADA who attend the PADA Annual Member Meeting.
