On behalf of Northeast Beef Promotion Initiative (NEBPI) and Delaware Beef Advisory Board (DBAB) I am thrilled to extend an invite for the From Pasture to Practice. Beef Farm Tour and Nutrition Communications Workshop: Science and Soundbites event on Thursday, September 10th in beautiful Townsend, DE. Approval of CPEUs are pending.
Below, you will find the rough itinerary for this event which will kick off with a tour of Powers Beef Farm, followed by a luncheon and nutrition communications training workshop at The Market at Belaire.
9:30am Arrive at Powers Farm - 324 VanDyke Maryland Line Rd. Townsend, DE 19734
9:30 – 11:00am: Tour of Powers Farm
11:15am: Travel to The Market at Belaire - 4098 Willey Drive, Townsend, DE 19734
11:30am – 12:15pm: Lunch
12:30 – 2:15pm Nutrition Communications Workshop: Science and Soundbites lead by nationally-recognized food and nutrition expert, media personality, nutrition consultant, author, Samantha Cassetty, MS, RD,
2:15 – 2:30pm Discussion and Wrap Up
2:45 – 3:00pm: Attendee Departure
Tour attendees can expect to learn about the following topics
- Lean beef’s unique nutrient profile and importance at all ages and stages of life

- Beef myth busting
- Modern production/sustainability practices
- Animal care and well-being
- Practical nutrition communication skills that can be applied in a variety of practice settings
- Following the event, you will be armed with key beef nutrition messages and educational resources to share confidently with your circles of influence. You will also have a better understanding of how nutrient-rich beef travels from pasture to plate in this region.
Travel Details
NEBPI/DBAB will reimburse up to $50 for mileage with prompt submission of our expense form.
