Position Description:
At Community LIFE, we serve adults over age 55 who are medically nursing home elgible, but who have joined our comunity-based program as an alternative to nursing home care. Our Registered Dietitian is responsible for individual nutrition assessment and care planning in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), individual and group education and counseling, and oversight of the health and safety aspects of food service provided at the Community LIFE adult day center. This position supervises dietary staff. Our Registered Dietitian must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, plan care for and provide service to frail elders according to assigned responsibilities and Community LIFE standards.Benefits:

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education: Graduate/Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nutrition or dietetics.Required Experience: One year of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist working with the frail elderly population either in a hospital or nursing home setting. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
Required Certifications and Licensure: Current Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) registration and PA licensure. Valid PA Driver’s License.
Required Skills:
General clinical knowledge plus knowledge of nutritional supplements, diabetes education, and renal diets.
Knowledge of principles of counseling and education.
Sufficient understanding of windows-based computer applications to learn and use the electronic medical record and organize one’s schedule and required reports
